The movie is dark, but very beautifully made. The movie has pretty dark subject matter – not something I would normally choose to watch, but hearing about how awesome the book was, and on the strength of the cast and director and Oscar nominations, it was added to our netflix queue. Peter Jackson has been working on this movie for years, and he and his team were well-suited to the amazing visualizations in this film. I never read the book but it was a best seller by Alice Sebold. We watched The Lovely Bones, borrowed from Netflix on blu-ray. Abigail goes into Susie's room, and Susie realizes it's time to go, commenting she was here for a moment, but is now gone, and wishes them all a long, happy lives.Saoirse Ronan as Susie Salmon in The Lovely Bones via

Susie's parents patch up their marriage, sister Lindsey has her first kid, Ray hooks up with Ruth, and as George tries to lure a girl into his car, and ends up dying in a half real, half metaphorical way in the snow, with an icicle hitting him the shoulder, falling and breaking his neck. Susie comments the Lovely Bones are the connections with how the family and friends' worlds were kept together, even in her absence. At the landfill, Susie leaps into Ruth (the girl he's with)'s body, she kisses Ray. George moves a large safe (containing Susie's body) to the landfill, and Ray sees this.
Lindsey sleuths around and, breaking into George's home, realizes the certain truth.
#The lovely bones netflix serial
Susie tries to compel her dad to move on, but he can't, and Susie is able to view George's past actions and realizes he's a serial killer, and Holly is one of his victims. In the process, Jack is now sure George killed Susie. As Jack looks over at George's house, Susie appears to George, causing him to drop the sticks he's carrying, and the noise draws Jack over to talk to him, and help him make his 'duck trap' (really a kill area intended for Lindsey).
As Jack continues to develop Susie's photos (she had 24 rolls, and the deal before she died was they'd develop one a month due to the expense of it) it's now two years later, and a photo of George whilst Susie was at the mall catches his eye. Sue watches as her friends move on, Ray does the same, and George becomes interested in Susie's sister Lindsey (who suspects George may have been involved in her death). Susie's dad Jack is not coping well, pestering the police for new leads, but neglecting that his wife Abigail needs him as she copes with the loss of their daughter. Susie encounters another lost girl, Holly, who explains they're in limbo, not yet heaven. but in doing so, the reality she now experiences is not the reality of everyone else: Susie realizes she's dead and George murdered her. While taking a shortcut home from school, George encounters her and lures her into a club house of sorts, closing the door behind him, but panics and runs home. Susie was smitten by Ray, a senior at her high school, and confides if she wasn't so focused on him, she may have noticed other things (like her neighbor George who became obsessed with her). She remains vigilant, watching over her family and her killer. Susie calls to us her childhood, saving her brother's life when he was choking on a twig, and finally, when she was murdered.
